ABOUT ME

I’m alumnus from the famous institute of mural painting Guruvayoor and has completed a number of works in traditional Kerala mural painting style on walls and also on various other surfaces such as canvas. My talent in the field of painting was noticed and encouraged by my teachers since school days and bagged several trophies and certificates for painting and clay modeling etc. I have passed the five year national diploma in mural painting conducted by the institute of mural painting guruvayoor under guruvayoordevaswom with first class. Realising my talent and professionalism, the supreme authorities of guruvayoor has not hesitated to entrust the responsibility of renovation of mural painting at guruvayoor temple sreekovil, which I could complete well in time and it has been admired by all devaswom authorities, especially the principal of the mural painting institution Shri.K.U.Krishnakumar. Apart from the temples, I have done mural on various secular walls also. Alongside I entertain Buddhist concepts and stories as themes of my painting, like the “Buddha in Dhyana” posture with ”BhoomiParsa Mudra” is surrounded by many episodes connected with his birth without moving away from the basic five color formulae of the traditional Kerala mural painting. More Info

I’m keeping a kind of stability in selecting the themes and their execution. The traditional concepts of composition of Kerala murals are sometimes broken by creating my talent in the nature depicted. Traditional Kerala mural painting is only done by five colors (pancha Varna) such as yellow, red, and green, black and white. White is the wall itself and other pigments are prepared from stones and leaves. The wall preparation is an elaborate process and on specially prepared wall. The picture is drawn first in line and completed in the above mentioned five colors. Most of the pictures are done based on dyanasloka. My excellence in the field of mural painting can be noticed in my works related to Hindu pantheon of god Vishnu, Siva, Ganesh, Sastha goddess and number of different combination of figures and different in carnation of Vishnu and manifestations of Siva and Goddess along with Buddhist concepts. Especially the Buddha in Dhyana deserves admiration from all art lovers.
